I do realize that I did not participate in WIP Wednesday yesterday. There is a reason. Anything that I wrote this entire week was entirely inappropriate for WIP Wednesday. I couldn't even fudge it with only certain lines. The entire writing consisted of one single, long running sex scene. So...I didn't participate. Next week, loves! … Continue reading Glitter and paints–promises that I’m not a diva!

Grammar Wednesday: POV–3rd Person Omniscient
So, you thought you were done with the last post? You're not. There is one more. This person is slowly becoming more popular, but there are still a lot of readers and editors and publishers and betas and such and such that don't like it. Do you know what omniscient means? Well, since I'm into … Continue reading Grammar Wednesday: POV–3rd Person Omniscient
Gman Mondays 6/17
My writing group on Monday's that I run has decided to have writing prompts for the weeks that we meet (NaNo months excluded, so that means July will be excluded). We met for the first time on June 17th with our writing prompts in hand, and I have to say it was one of the … Continue reading Gman Mondays 6/17
May 17, 2013 — San Lucas Toliman and Antigua
May 17, 2013 – San Lucas Toliman and Antigua The differences in the work the group was doing today was starkly different from the many other groups we have seen. The group today seemed to have a lack of respect for the indigenous culture and spirituality that the others had. It wasn’t just with … Continue reading May 17, 2013 — San Lucas Toliman and Antigua

#WIPpet Wednesday June 19, 2013 #wippeeters
Good morning to all you lovelies!! This weeks WIPpet comes from my newest novel that I'm writing, ASHES FALL. It's the third and final to the trilogy about James Matthews and is the sequel to FOREVER BURN. Enjoy!! This is the last 19 paragraphs (though most are really short because they're dialogue) to the prologue. … Continue reading #WIPpet Wednesday June 19, 2013 #wippeeters
Grammar Wednesday: POV–3rd person
Third person is my favorite person to write in. I have to say, I absolutely love and adore it. Recently people have said they don't like third person because they are distanced from the character and can't get into their mind. Also, people say that it creates confusion as to what is really going on … Continue reading Grammar Wednesday: POV–3rd person
Books Updates! June 2013
I've been slacking in my reviewing and posting about the books that I am reading. YES! I am actually reading books, so this will be a mass update. I've been reading mostly indie authors lately, gotta support and honestly a lot of them are damned good. But I have read a few mainstream books. I … Continue reading Books Updates! June 2013

May 16, 2013 — Chichicastenango and Chontala
May 16, 2013 – Chichicastenango and Chontala The market today was quite an experience. Far from quiet, it was overcrowded and just about everyone had a purpose for being there—locals and tourists alike. The way people move in such a large crowd is amazing, with really only room for one way to move, people … Continue reading May 16, 2013 — Chichicastenango and Chontala

Grammar Wednesday: POV–2nd Person
This is the type of person or POV that you will find the least of. It's also, in my opinion, the hardest to write and the hardest to pull off when writing. People slip into second person when talking all the time and even when writing. It's like, you know, you do it all the … Continue reading Grammar Wednesday: POV–2nd Person
The wondrous world of editing
I've been seeing a lot of posts on facebook, twitter, goodreads and more about editing and the editing process. I'm not one to miss the bandwagon. Editing is extremely important when it comes to finalizing ANYTHING, even emails to the boss. There can be some pretty blaring typos (I've made them and will continue to … Continue reading The wondrous world of editing
May 15, 2013 — Chichicastenango and a few places in between
May 15, 2013 – Chichicastenango and a few places in between Today was ridiculously inspiring. Meeting Miguel and his family, eating with them and sharing so much with them put so much of what we’ve been touching on intellectually into tangibility. The poverty that these people face and everything we, as Americans, take advantage of. … Continue reading May 15, 2013 — Chichicastenango and a few places in between
Forever Burn (Adrian Smith) Book Review
I asked to Tom to write an honest review of FOREVER BURN, and that is exactly what he did. Thank you, Tom!
Sorry it’s been a little while folks, but all my exams are over now! So I should have a lot more time to read and write, which will be lovely. So, this book ‘Forever Burn’ was sent to me for review by one Adrian Smith, and I’m very glad to have had the privilege of reading it. It is the first in a series, which will be gaining a prequel soon. Right, I best get on with a review!
Forever Burn is the story of James Matthews, a firefighter trying to make a difference in the world. Trained to stay calm in dangerous situations, James is a professional. However, she is having recurrent dreams; dreams about a girl she pulled from a fire years ago. They aren’t just normal flashbacks, and James has a feeling something is wrong. That’s not all though. Her secret love at the fire station…

Creative Buzz Hop: A road less traveled… (6/7)
I have generally always taken the road less traveled, from the first moment I was born to the moment that I'm living right now. This weeks Creative Buzz Hop is all about the road less traveled and the inspiration that keeps coming from being off the beaten path. Maybe that's more astute to my road--the … Continue reading Creative Buzz Hop: A road less traveled… (6/7)
WIPpet Wednesday: June 5th, 2013
Good morning! Guess what! Tomorrow is my birthday, so you're getting something extra special today. I'm currently editing the prequel to my novel that's out...this one is called DYING EMBERS. It's so exciting. I should have it done by the end of this week (in theory). Today you will get two scenes, the first is … Continue reading WIPpet Wednesday: June 5th, 2013
Grammar Wednesday: POV–1st person
I've decide the next group of grammar goodness will be about persons in writing. There are typically 3 persons, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd! Go figure, the numbers go up. First person, at least from what I have seen, is becoming far more common--that might just be because I'm seeing it more, not that it actually … Continue reading Grammar Wednesday: POV–1st person
Goals for June
Each month I have a writers group meeting in Arlington, TX where we discuss what our monthly goals are. I think I might be a little overambitious this month, but I need to get it done. This group hasn't met since March, so it was great to finally get together again, with someone new AND … Continue reading Goals for June
