Agent Morgan Stone to return in July! #wlw #crimemystery #thriller

I have always loved crime, mystery, thriller. Anything of that sort. Agent Morgan Stone is no exception to that rule.

When I first wrote Stone’s Mistake, it was based on a short story that I’d written for submission in an anthology back in 2015.For the following five years, I wanted to expand on that short story, and I knew exactly who was going to take lead in the book. Agent Morgan Stone. I knew she was going to be one of the Stone siblings, I knew she was going to work for the FBI, and I knew it was going to end up being a case unlike any case she’d ever had. And it did.

What I didn’t know is that this story was going to turn into a series. But I like series. I like books that follow the same characters, the same relationships as they morph and change and grow. Morgan Stone is no exception to this. Stone’s Homefront releases July 1st of this year, and it was probably THE HARDEST book I have ever written. One because I started this series with “bad guy” point of view, and this particular bad guy, I think, is someone none of us want to understand. Diving into his psyche took a huge toll on me. The writing went slow. The editing has gone slow. And now I wait to hear what my publisher has to say. (She’s aware of the topic.)

I changed the name of this book too recently. Originally it was Race War, but for several reasons, Stone’s Homefront  fits far better. You’ll see why when you read the book. And YES! For all of those who have asked, Chicago Homicide Detective Fiona Wexford does make a comeback in this book. She and Morgan do develop a deeper relationship, and we do find out just exactly what kind of relationship she is in that is holding her back from being with Morgan. And it may surprise you.

For your reading pleasure, Stone’s Mistake (Agent Morgan Stone #1) is on sale through the 15th of January! Grab it up while you can!!

For the record, this brings me no pleasure to write. I had hoped and prayed that Adam Gaffen, who is a self-proclaimed writer of LGBTQ+ science fiction, mostly sapphic in nature, would be the one writing this and not me, but his attempt at it has been tepid, and I...
