This book blossomed because I had one flipping scene in my head, and that scene didn’t even end up in the book until chapter fifteen, but boy did I love writing it.
I had a few goals and challenges to myself with this book. I wanted to write a slow burn (totally accomplished), and I wanted to write some more androgynous characters. I wanted to represent western Kansas as best as I could and the small town we lived in for 6 years, honor it.
I also wanted to see if I could write a romance series. Up until now every romance book I’ve written has been a stand-alone, and this is the first in a series. It doesn’t follow the same characters, but Eli does show up in every subsequent book. Sometimes Sarah shows up to.
Most importantly, I wanted to write a character with anxiety. My spouse has bad anxiety, and I wanted to explore that since I know many people in this world also struggle with anxiety and find and learn different coping methods for it.
So there you have it, Indigo: Blues was born.
You can PREORDER Indigo: Blues. It releases April 4, 2022 and is the first in a brand new series.
