Disgust in One’s self #WIPpetWednesday

Hello all! It’s evening here, and I’m writing this post early, but I normally do. I have internet tomorrow, so I should be able to keep up with everyone’s post throughout the day. Yay!

To cut to the chase. I’ve been writing a lot lately. I haven’t quite managed to write every day, but I have at least managed to keep up in my goal of a word count. Mostly because of days like today where I write almost 7k words to make up for not writing the entire weekend. My weeks just seem to be getting busier and busier as they go along.

My goal is still to finished Quarter Life: Unbound by the end of October, and thank God! I’m on track to do that. I’m starting to think about my NaNo Project, which means at least plotting out the first few chapters in my head.

Anyway…onto WIPpet. Here’s my excerpt for the day from Quarter Life: Unbound. Now, I changed my MC’s name. Long story as to why, but it needed to happen. So now Faye=Emma. Same character, new name. This follows the chapter with the Troll from last week. You get 1 paragraph for the first of the month. My math is so easy today.

Here we go…

Mike breathed heavily on her, the air flowing from his mouth over her chest. Faye shifted slightly to a more comfortable position. The smell of his blood dominated her thoughts. She hated drinking from humans. It felt wrong to her, like a violation of trust. Most of them didn’t know she existed, yet she still preyed on them like animals. And they weren’t animals, they were intelligent monsters just like those in her own family line.

Hope you enjoyed! Check out other WIPpeteers here.

  1. I like the name Faye! Good choice if you had to switch names. I likes :)

It’s kind of a cringing truth, saying humans are also intelligent monsters, because we truly can be.

  2. Oh! “Intelligent monsters.” I really like that turn of the phrase. And I love how she smells the blood. Very nice! And you wrote 7k in one day?? WOW! Everyone else is so productive this WIPpet. I wish I could be as productive myself!

  3. Ahhh… a WIPpet I can sink my fangs into!

I like “sorta” vampire better than “real” vampire. And the conflict between what she’s doing and her feelings….love it.

Also joining the chorus who love ‘intelligent monsters!’

    • Lol. She’s definitely vampire in nature. I don’t know if I’ll reveal it. The reader won’t know until the end of the book as it’s kinda the whole point of the book but we’ll see. I may let it slip.
