Good morning!! Today is going to be a busy day for me, and until the SO goes to work, I may not get any time to write. Which is a sad day, but a necessary part of the balance of life. I write much better in the mornings than I do in the afternoons or evenings or nights. I have so much more focus, far less distractions. Anyone else feel like this?
So I’m hoping I get my minimum word count in for today, but if not, I do have a plan. I’m one day ahead of where I should be in terms of my 3k a day goal, so that means I can skip a day, right? This novel I’m working on, Lost & Forsaken, is very different from the others I’ve written like it. Which is nice, but at the same time, it’s hard. I feel as though my characters are struggling with it just as much as I am.
I’m catching up with Camp NaNoWriMo though! It’s my own fault for starting two weeks late into Camp, but I think I can make it up, barring any major emergencies. I’m 20% through with the book already, and about 31% done with Camp NaNo, so I’m definitely making progress finally. I’m about to start chapter 5 today, and once I complete that, I’ll be 25% of the way through concerning chapters =P Progress! Progress! Progress! (If I keep telling myself that, then maybe I’ll keep writing.)
ROW80 goals for the rest of April!
1. Write 3k words a day on Lost & Forsaken
Wednesday: 3133
Thursday: 4151
Friday: 3079
Saturday: 5094
2. Edit 2 chapters a day on Her Run for Rachael
I actually took a whole afternoon on Thursday and just finished this off for her. Her release was coming up, and I wanted her to have it sooner, so this goal is complete.
3. Edit 2 chapters a day on shorts for Kaden
Due to editing more on Rachael’s I didn’t quite do this. I’m still on the first chapter of the third short story. Tomorrow I’ll get back on track though.
4. Edit 1 chapter a day on Unbound: Book One of Quarter Life which is my own thing that’s supposed to be coming out in Oct.
This I have done! In fact, I did two more chapters than I was supposed to just because I could. =P I’ll skip doing it today though, so I can focus on writing when I get home from work.
Nice progress! I have yet to start on Camp, only because I have a release coming out May 1st and I’ve been busy preparing. There’s still time. 😉
I have two releases may 1! It’s scary. Good luck on yours!
Sounds like you are making great progress. Congratulations on crossing off one goal already. Keep up the good work! You sure put me to shame!
Ha thanks! Everyone has different goals for a reason. Not everyone works like everyone else
Overall, I’d say that’s amazing progress! WAHOO you! And it’s brave to jump in nearly halfway through the month.
I’m writing something very new to me, too. It’s been – mentally and emotionally fatiguing at times – but with two scenes left, I’m so glad I gave it a go!
And I’ll be delighted to get back to Trip and T’Pol next month, too! =)
Enjoy your adventure, and the stretching – and the time with the SO!
Yay for something new. I love trying new things
