Omg, my maths be craaaaazy this morning! I have to share them before I forget them.
14 x 5 = 70 + 20 = 90 – 1 – 1 = 88
And thus using all numbers for once, you get 88 words that follow immediately last weeks post. I haven’t started really writing on this piece yet because I’m still waiting for my life to calm down a bit. I’m almost done with edits for a novel that hopefully will be coming out soon (also cover reveal for it coming soon! yay!) and then I’ll have to do edits for another novel coming out in Sept (also, cover reveal for that coming soon). Finally, I might have just picked up an editing job for a 112,000 word novel! Yikes! That’ll take some time. Busy! busy! busy!
Thanks to Amy Mitchell for reminding me by accident that today was Wednesday!
If you would to read last weeks post as a reminder, you can find it here!
If you would like to participate in WIPpet Wednesday, there are minimal rules. Write a post with your current WIP that relates somehow to the date (crazy maths welcome =P). Then link it up over here and read some of the other posts, leaving a comment for their awesomeness in posting! Thanks to MyRandomMuse for hosting this weekly.
I also have an interview with author Jaye McKenna, if you’d like to read it, as well as a guest post from Francis James Franklin. THEN they both donated to an amazing giveaway I’m doing. It ends Friday so sign up!
If you would like me to stop rambling and get to the post already, here you go. =P
Time and time again he felt the tension surge into his body, only to never totally ease away. The four weeks of leave he’d been forced to take only added to the tension. At least it was paid, he snorted and shoved the weapon onto the cooler he used as a table. Downing the rest of his beer, he shook the image that worked its way into his mind and focused on the warmth floating down his throat.
Sometimes the alcohol had the opposite effect than he wanted.
Nice WIPpet. There’s nothing worse than being displaced and not being able to settle. I get a great sense of that – poor guy.
yup, he’s been through a lot and gets to go through even more. =( poor Shayne.
Glad to be of service! LOL
Now I’m very curious about what’s causing his tension (and why he had to take 4 weeks’ leave).
good luck figuring it out! =P
A lot there for such a short excerpt! Great work!
Thanks!
Nice job depicting his mental state! I especially like the last line. Definitely zings.
=P yay! I like the last line too…now I just need a follow up line… lol
Ah, yes, alcohol…she’s a cruel mistress. He’s got some tough issues to sort through, methinks.
his issues are all unicorns and rainbows and glitter! =P
Glitter. *shudders* It’s so…invasive.
Very well done! Especially that last line about the alcohol. It reminds me a little of Billy Bones and his rum, only far less comical. Your math is pretty awesome, too. 🙂
omg the math was insane! I think I was channeling you when I did it and it just somehow miraculously came out right the first time I tried! INSANE.
LOL!!! Glad to have helped. 🙂 Although… if it came out right the first time, you may actually have been channeling Eden. 😛
I have my suspicions as to why Shayne is having this hard time. Like his weapon… At least he’s on leave and not full suspension. Though when someone is dedicated to his service, the two can feel interchangeable.
Nice dark piece.
And wow… do you ever rest, Adrian? Cool on the editing job.
Haha no I don’t ever rest. My SO yells at me for it all the time. =P
That explains it!
Another great piece, shorter than last week’s but very tense again. I want to know more about this Shayne… 🙂
