As most of you know by this point, I am writing a romance novel, and I’m hoping to finish the writing of it today. Because GUEST WHAT!? I finished NaNoWriMo on Monday! w00t! w00t! anyway…I’ve come to a dilemma in this. I usually use one person for beta reading, but well, I’m overtaxing her. My apologies, you know who you are, and so I’m looking for a few new beta’s to give my regular beta a break. I need some peeps who want to read a lesbian romance novel who are okay with a May-December age gap (if you don’t know what that means, it means there’s 31 years between my characters).

2. keep up with all blog posts ROW80, WIPpet, Open When and add in 1 extra post a week
All blog posts have gone up so far this week. I do need to come up with one extra post for this week, but I have a store of topics somewhere on my computer.
3. Edit at least one chapter a week on something.
Did 50 pages on the copy-edit for Mara White last night (plan on doing 50 pgs a day until done)
Did 1 chapter copy-edit for S. K. Hart last night (plan on doing 1 chap a day until done)
Did 1 chapter for PTB last night…will do more when they send me more (thought I’d add this since it was in the other ones)
I’m expecting a new copy edit at the end of this week, so I really need to finish one of the two I already have. *has a lot of work to do in November*
4. crochet one round of border a week
I didn’t do this yet, but thank you so much for yelling at me! Definitely going to try and get it done this week. Maybe now that NaNo is done…=P
Now for WIPpet Wednesday!
It’s hard for me to decide which snippets to give since this really is supposed to be a “super secret” novel, when it’s really not. Everyone knows it’s a lesbian romance by this point, and I’ve given out a few snippets already. I did decide what to name it this week, which I’m exited about. I can stop calling it “the MILFy thing”.
The title, you ask? Why sure, I’ll tell you. The title is…… Memoir in the Making
Which will make sense if you read the book. It’s not a memoir novel at all, thankfully. No one wants to see what goes on in my head. So here we go. WIPpet Wednesday is where writers share snippets of their writings with a whole bunch of other writers and then we go comment on them! w00t! The only hardfast rule is that your post must in some way relate to the date.
So for this week, I give you 15 sentences from ch 12. the 15 comes from (14 + 1) x 1… the 12 comes from the day.
This probably my favorite scene thus far in the whole novel. No joke.
Ainsley grabbed her jacket from the hook and swung it over her shoulders and arms. She buttoned it up and was just about to tie it, but Meredith stuck her hand out and stopped her. Instead of saying something or letting go like she intended, Meredith kept her hand on Ainsley’s. She rubbed her thumb against the back of Ainsley’s hand, reveling in how soft her skin was.
Everything slowed down. Meredith felt her chest rise and fall with each breath and heard Ainsley’s in response. Her heart thrummed along in her chest, and she licked her lips as they were suddenly dry. Meredith finally raised her gaze and looked at Ainsley, a blush on Ainsley’s cheeks.
“I could get fired for this, you know.”
“I know.”
Meredith’s breathing quickened. She wasn’t quite sure what to say anymore. Words had escaped her for the first time in her long life, and she was at a loss. Ainsley reached up, cupping Meredith’s chin and forcing their faces closer.
“I don’t care,” Meredith murmured before their lips pressed together.

Nice steamy scene there. Throwing caution to the wind and giving in to desire…that’s a risky venture. But I’m sure it will work out in the end.

It still hasn’t quite worked out for them yet but it’s close. Only two chapters left to write for the novel!

What energy! Wow and congratulations! NaNoWriMo gives us a kind of ‘play area’ to challenge ourselves to tell that story. And you’re done? Phew! The snippet has tension and heat, that moment of not knowing if the other person reciprocates. Well done. May the rest of the month bring you equally heady success!

That’s a really interesting dynamic between the two MCs. What I mean is just how well they’re relating to each other in this scene, how the age difference doesn’t matter, they’re just two people who are in love.
And that is what i absolutely love about these two characters in a nutshell

Im glad you got tge professorial vibe in thus. Its definitely clear in the oiece as a whole with context and everything.
The title concerns me for that very reason but I also really, really like it. And memoir is a huge part of the novel so it does make sense in that context. I’m still thinking on it, but i would have to come up with domething really good to replace it
